A reminder that as of Monday the 25th June the Maths Library vacation opening hours will commence: 09:30 – 17:30 Monday to Friday.
Closures over the summer
The Maths Library will be closed at the following times over the summer:
Tuesday 26th June – all day for External Examiners meeting
Wednesday 27th June – 11:30 – 14:30 for Exam Board lunch
Wednesday 11th July – library closes at 14:00 for College Centenary events
Monday 27th August – closed all day for bank holiday
Friday 14th September – closed all day for internal library training event

If you were teaching in 2006/2007 (or are likely to be teaching in 2007/2008) you should have recently received an email from the Library about suggested reading for the 2007/2008 academic year.
Please do respond to these emails ASAP – they determine our textbook provision (for both undergraduate and post-graduate taught courses). If you have any questions (or have not received an email when you should have done) contact our recommended reading section by email at recommended-reading@imperial.ac.uk or let me know at j.evans@imperial.ac.uk.
Access to collections in the Central Library over the summer June 6, 2007

In addition to the building works mentioned in the post below there will also be reduced access to some collections in the Central Library during parts of the summer.
The Haldane collection (humanities Level 1) will be moving to level 5 in mid-June prior to the start of the building works.
The journals collection will also be affected whilst it is reorganised into a single alphabetic sequence in August and early September. Where possible, the library will provide a daily fetching service for journals housed on Level 4 (natural sciences, engineering and medicine) during this period.
On occasion we may advise users to use inter-library loans or alternate library holdings. The cost of ILL requests will be met by the library during the closure of Level 4 north in August.
Access to older material and some theses held in store may be disrupted once building work commences in July.

A significant programme of building work will be happening both at the Central Library, South Kensington and the Hammersmith Campus Library this summer. Both developments will deliver enhanced IT, study and learning space for users across College. The projects are going to impact on our services throughout the summer. We will be doing our best to support our users and keep you informed of changes as they occur.
The Library will post regular updates regarding opening hours and changes to service on the library website. Further information about our redevelopment and an indicative floor plan of the new Central Library ground floor is also available.
Please bear with us as there will be ongoing building noise throughout the summer. (more…)
