Do you have a question about the library service you receive ?
Are there issues around our collections or study spaces you think need addressing?
The Library Forum (Council Room, 170 Queens Gate, Friday 16 January 2009 10.00 – 12.00)
I’d like to alert you to the first meeting of the new Library Forum – and hope that you might be able to attend?
The new library forum is a user focused event – and is your chance to raise the issues and concerns you have about the library. You can submit a question in advance or we’ll be more than happy to take your question on the day.
Needless to say if you can’t make it to the meeting we still want to hear from you – the answers to all submitted questions will be posted on the library website with a full report of the meeting.
Professor Mary Ritter (Pro-Rector for Postgraduate and International Affairs) will chair the forum. At this first meeting the Senior Library Management team will also be presenting our plans and aspirations for library space across all campuses will be presented, as well as some initial results from the recent study space survey in the Central Library.
If you are able to attend please let us know in advance by emailing Alice Ashley-Smith (a.ashley-smith@imperial.ac.uk) . Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available. Alice will be able to advise on any practical issues for the meeting, e.g. directions or access arrangements.

ISI Proceedings is now the Conference Proceedings Citation Index – an integrated index within Web of Science, which means you can use cited reference searching to dig even deeper into proceedings coverage.
You’ll be able to easily discover which proceedings are the most influential…who is citing proceedings findings and what work they’ve done…and how proceedings and conferences fit into the overall research picture.
Now that the Conference Proceedings Citation Index is an integrated index within Web of Science,
you can:
- Search backward and forward in time to discover past influences and subsequent developments
– on book-based proceedings as well as journal literature
· Track the influence and impact of individual proceedings papers
· Discover where the top researchers in your field are presenting papers
· See how conferences influence work in related disciplines
Proceedings coverage is still available in two editions: Science (currently Science and Technology) and Social Science and Humanities. If you currently have a subscription to ISI Proceedings and Web of Science, you can access conference proceedings data as an edition of Web of Science, along with the other Web of Science editions you subscribe to. If you currently have a subscription to only ISI Proceedings, you can access conference proceedings data as an edition to Web of Science. You can access your subscription directly by going to http://isiknowledge.com/wos

Access to Web of Knowledge has now been restored. Please see note from MIMAS:
Unfortunately, there have been intermittent problems with the service earlier today. Thomson Reuters, who host the service on their servers, have just informed us that everything should now be resolved.
Before attempting to access the service again, we recommend users clear the cache and cookies in their web
browser, before closing and re-opening the browser – this will prevent any error messages / cookies from previous sessions becoming stuck in the cache of the machine they are trying to access from – further information on cache clearing is available on our support pages FAQ:
http://wok.mimas.ac.uk/faq/#Q6.5 (please note that settings may vary for different versions of browsers).
