Reminder re Faculty of Natural Sciences Open Access drop-in session

A quick reminder that there is a drop-in session happening on Monday 17 September, between 9.30am and 12.30pm in the Central Library, to enable academics to get 1:1 help with uploading publications to Spiral as well as get help with other aspects of the Symplectic publications system.

Faculty of Natural Sciences and Library staff will be on hand to help you out (and answer any questions you might have).

SPIE now offering Gold open access programme

“SPIE has announced a new program that provides Gold Open Access upon publication for a journal article for which authors or their institutions pay voluntary page charges, beginning in January 2013. Authors will retain copyright under the Creative Commons CC-BY license.

The new program covers articles in the SPIE journals:

*   Optical Engineering

*   Journal of Biomedical Optics

*   Journal of Electronic Imaging; co-published with IS&T

*   Journal of Micro/Nanolithography, MEMS, and MOEMS

*   Journal of Applied Remote Sensing

*   Journal of Nanophotonics

*   Journal of Photonics for Energy.”

Imperial open access publication fund

Imperial’s open access (OA) publication fund exists to support researchers who would like to publish their research in open access publications. The fund is open to academic and postdoctoral staff employed at Imperial College London and will pay for open access publication costs for journal articles in open access journals or subscription journals that offer an open access option (hybrid journals).
