After losing access for a while, we are pleased to announce that we now have access to all content within this journal title via JSTOR and Project Euclid.
About this journal:
Statistical research spans an enormous range from direct subject-matter collaborations to pure mathematical theory. The Annals of Applied Statistics, the newest journal from the IMS, is aimed at papers in the applied half of this range. Published quarterly in both print and electronic form, our goal is to provide a timely and unified forum for all areas of applied statistics.
Statistical Analysis and Data Mining is now available from the Library. Access to this title is available through Library Search.
Statistical Analysis and Data Mining addresses the broad area of data analysis, including data mining algorithms, statistical approaches, and practical applications.
The journal covers topics including problems involving massive and complex datasets, solutions utilizing innovative data mining algorithms and/or novel statistical approaches, and the objective evaluation of analyses and solutions.
We now have access to Stat – The ISI’s Journal for the Rapid Dissemination of Statistics Research. This journal is online only, and is accessible across the College via the links in this post or via Library Search.
Launched August 2012, Stat – The ISI’s Journal for the Rapid Dissemination of Statistics Research is a new online only, rapid communication research journal publishing short articles of the highest quality from all areas of statistics and interdisciplinary areas.
Stat provides a means of rapid sharing of important new theoretical, methodological and applied research for the international community of statisticians, and for researchers and practitioners in other disciplines where statistics plays an important role. Read Stat’s Aims and Scopes here.
A reminder that the Statistical Advisory Service runs courses for statistics and statistical software packages such as SPSS, Stata and Matlab.
See their courses page for further information.
We no longer have access to the CRCnetbase mathematics and statistics collections due to a huge increase in subscription costs. If you find you no longer have access to a key CRCnetbase title that we did have access to before, please let us know and we will investigate purchasing alternative editions.
We now have online access to the International encyclopedia of statistical science. You can access this title here, or see its entry on the library catalogue here.
From the website:
The goal of this book is multidimensional: a) to help reviving Statistics education in many parts in the world where it is in crisis. For the first time authors from many developing countries have an opportunity to write together with the most prominent world authorities. The editor has spent several years searching for the most reputable statisticians all over the world. International contributors are either presidents of the local statistical societies, or head of the Statistics department at the main university, or the most distinguished statisticians in their countries. b) to enable any non-statistician to obtain quick and yet comprehensive and highly understandable view on certain statistical term, method or application c) to enable all the researchers, managers and practicioners to refresh their knowledge in Statistics, especially in certain controversial fields. d) to revive interest in statistics among students, since they will see its usefulness and relevance in almost all branches of Science.
We have recently added all of our CRCnetBASE e-book titles to the library catalogue, so you can now search for them individually. The two lists below show all the titles currently available for Maths and Statistics.
If you have any problems with accessing any e-resources, please do let Jenny know…and keep an eye on this blog as we do post useful information regarding problems.
We currently have problems with our access to Annals of Applied Probability. Our subscriptions/e-resources team is investigating what has happened and we will get access restored as soon as we possibly can. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
